Fifty-nine-year-old Ila Ag Amin. In the aftermath of the Tuareg rebellion of the 1990’s Ila had signed up with the Malian armed forces. In February he was advised to flee by his colonel because of a possible retaliation from his fellow soldiers. "I am a Tuareg but I am a Malian in the first place: I have fought against the MNLA". (National Movement for the Tuareg Liberation of Azawad.) "I am ready to join the armed forces again to fight Islamist militias".
