Abdel Fattah Al Baghdadi mourns on the grave of his 9-month-old daughter Tala and 3-year-old son Fathi who burned to death in a house fire. The fire was caused by a candle used because of repeated blackouts in the Gaza Strip. Blackouts are a consequence of the power stations’ shortages of fuel oil supply resulting from disagreements between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. Suppliers are supposed to be paid by the Palestinian Authority which has to claim from Hamas the monies paid by the populations of Gaza for power supply.
The death of the two children sparked a demonstration in the refugee camp of Al Bureij. Five hundred people were chanting anti-Hamas slogans; they were swiftly dispersed by the police.
